BNMG - BALBOA NEPHROLOGY MEDICAL GROUP 

Dao Medical Group has teamed up with BNMG to take care patients who need kidney care and treating diseases of the kidneys.  For nearly 50 years, Balboa Nephrology Medical Group (BNMG) has grown from two physicians to a comprehensive nephrology team of 52 board certified physicians and 8 advanced practitioners. From one small office, BNMG now has 24 clinical offices throughout San Diego, Imperial and Orange counties.

In addition to office and hospital based patient care, BNMG physicians manage the dialysis treatments of approximately 5,000 patients at 88 dialysis centers.

THANH CAO, D.O

Dr. Cao joined Balboa Nephrology in 2021 and practices in the Fountain Valley area. He grew up in Little Saigon in Orange County. His family came to the United States as refugees when he was two years old. He has lived in Orange County for most of his life. Dr. Cao completed his undergraduate studies at  the University of California, Irvine, earning a B.S. in Biological Sciences with a minor in Anthropology. Next, he attended Touro University Nevada College  of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas. After that, Dr.  Cao completed his nephrology fellowship at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. He trained during the height of the global pandemic, which helped shape his clinical approach and skills. He is grateful to be back home in Orange County and is proud to serve the local community.
